all u should have to do is hit network update

The latest CFW is 5.00 M33-6
To update to 5.00 M33-6 from 3.8 you’d need to do it in 3 parts
You’d put each update into PSP>GAME and run
You’lll need your battery at at least 70 some % charge to do so
I have each on my computer, and have loaded them on MegaUpload

this is a link to an archived file, in it are 3 folders to put into PSP>GAME
The names are UPDATE, UPDATE 02 and UPDATE03
To run each you’lll need to rename them into just UPDATE
