I would leave it alone unless you are experiencing software problems. There is probably very little difference between what you have and the new firmware.
Without a doubt, DO NOT update the firmware if everything is working ok.
More often then not, origonal firmware works just fine for 99.999% of people…. then they discover some very rare problem, and it ends up doing more harm then good.
I never update firmware if I dont have a problem… even if the firmware I am using is years old.
You know the old saying, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
But you might want to look at the info on the linksys site for that update to see if any of the issues fixed are of concern to you.
last time when I do the firmware upgrade..my router has been useless..
my advise just use the firmware that is already installed in your router..
if you install a wrong firmware you maybe cannot use your router anymore because the firmware for some country is different from other countries..
just upgrade if you`re realy sure and brave enough to take the risks..
