you need to update it using the correct website to make sure it takes effect…(because sony suggests to update via the web only thru ur appropriate region website…
since you have a region 3 psp then > go to this website

and follow the instructions…. for more specific url…with english translation …go to

just follow step by step process and you should be good to go…
