Recently bought Dynex 32” Television someone has decide to connect Dell Studio 15 to the new television. After try to connecting for a few times he can’t get HDMI output working on the TV. As he is sure that his television is HDMI capable and he’s also using the right HDMI cable, so thought the problem is Studio 15 laptop.
In order to connecting Dell Studio 15 to TV, first thing you need to do is make enable the HDMI output on your laptop. This can be difference in any model, for example on Dell XPS you can do this by pushing Fn F8 cycles through the display modes (F8 is labeled CRT/LCD). This solution below is the settings you can change and get the right one that match.
If you have an NVIDIA graphics card, you can make changes something in the NVIDIA control panel, seems like ATI graphics card also has something similar. Other solution you can try to do is change the display settings. To do this simply right click on the desktop, select personalize, and then choose display settings. You should be able to set your Dell Studio 15 laptop to display the same image between the laptop screen and the TV. You need only display on one or the other, or display a different image on both (with one being the default, and the other as extension).
