HTC HD Mini Joins the Larger HTC HD2 on T-Mobile
Thursday, August 19th, 2010HTC HD Mini Joins the Larger HTC HD2 on T-Mobile
The new Mini edition of the HTC HD2 has now been launched on a fourth network operator, the HTC HD Mini is now available on a range of third party T-Mobile deals after initially being released as a SIM Free and unlocked phone as well as on the Orange network in early April.
Since then the new HTC HD Mini has gone on to also be launched on O2 and Vodafone contract deals and now has been picked up by the T-Mobile network further expanding the number of pay monthly tariffs available for this latest Windows phone.
The HD Mini only has one thing in mind, that is to offer the same great features found in the previous and rather large HTC HD2 model but in a far more pocket friendly format. This new mini phone successfully does this by shrinking down the size of the main touch screen from a massive 4.3 inches to a far more reasonable 3.2 inches which makes for a far smaller footprint.
The phone packs a real punch in terms of features negating none of those found in the HD2, there is a 5.0 mega pixel camera, the latest Windows 6.5.3 operating system and the HTC Sense user interface running over the top for a smooth user experience.
The biggest difference between the two models is that the larger screen of the HD2 needed a whopping 1GHz processor to operate, the HTC HD Mini only needs a 600 MHz processor due to its smaller screen size which also more than takes care of running the abundance of new applications which can be downloaded from the Windows App Store.
The HD Mini joins two other new models from the manufacturer which have all been released this year, the HTC Desire and HTC Legend are the two latest Android powered phones to hit the market with the Legend offering the same 3.2 inch touch screen.
More competition comes from the Sony

HTC also have a model which matches up to the Nokia N900, the HTC HD2 offers the largest touch screen currently available on any mobile phone currently available at 4.3 inches, also running on a 1GHz processor with a 5.0 mega pixel camera the HD2 is a fast and powerful handset.
Sony Ericsson have a few models on the market which don’t quite match up to the powerful N900, the new Satio which has be plagued with software problems offers a higher resolution camera at 12.1 mega pixels but the forthcoming Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is probably the best alternative which will be the first Android phone from the manufacturer.
Another definite competitor to the Nokia N900 has to be the latest Google Nexus One handset, again offering a 5MP camera but lacks the physical Qwerty keyboard, however this is a powerful device running on the latest Android 2.1 operating system.
As mentioned, the top-end models from other manufacturers also make for good alternatives, the biggest competitor at present has to be the Motorola Milestone which offers a similar form factor by having a slide out Qwerty keyboard and also a 5.0 mega pixel camera although this is an Android 2.0 phone with lots of Google support.
The Nokia N900 is by far the most advanced handset to be released by the manufacturer to date and has little competition apart from within its own ranks and that of the flagshiop models from other manufacturers. These include the
